Who would have guessed that four minutes could change everything?
Twists of fate and quirks of timing play out in this thoughtful novel about family connections, second chances and first loves. Set over a 24-hour-period, Hadley and Oliver's story will make you believe that true love finds you when you're least expecting it -quoted from Goodreads
If you're looking for a book that contains a beautifully written romance to snuggle up with on a cold winters night, than this is your book! This book has all the perfect elements that I look for in a contemporary. There's the unexpected love, the sweet romantic scenes, a little bit of humor, the alluring London setting, a little bit of heart ache and two fabulously flawed characters I loved getting to know. The entire book was a pleasant surprise and I love it when a book leaves me both satisfied and wanting more all at the same time. If you don't believe in love at first sight, then you might be surprised with The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight. This book might be the very thing that will turn you into a believer. After all, it only took 4 mins to make Hadley one.
Being 4 mins late to the airport, an already frustrated Hadley has just missed her flight to London to attend her father's wedding. Not that she was all that excited to attend it in the first place. After all, I couldn't blame her. She's never met the women her father left her mother and her for. It's during her time here at the airport she meets the dashing Oliver. Lucky girl! Not only is he charming, good looking, and a funny, but he's British and he'll be sitting right next to her on their 7 hour flight to London. Sounds dreamy doesn't it? I for one fell in love with him during this time. Oliver is an entire package of awesomeness. There's something about him that made me fall in love with his character at the same time Hadley did. Oliver's not the only one who steals the show, there's something about Hadley that makes her so easy to love. Both Hadley and Oliver are relatable. They're a little broken, a little sarcastic, witty, and they both of this quality about them that lures me to them.
Their romance is so beautifully written. It's intoxicating, blissful, and a real breath of fresh air. It's one of those romances that will have you sighing and may even give you the urge to go "hang out" at the airport, or catch a flight to London in hopes of sitting next to your own Oliver. One of the things I loved about this book is everything that happens is done over the course of exactly 24 hours. It only took Hadley 24 hours to mend a broken relationship with her father, realize that her new stepmother is nothing like she imagined, that love is real, life goes on and love at first sight really does happen. This book is more than a beautiful love story, it's about life, family connections, love and learning to let go of your fears. I highly recommend picking this book up!
